Mirror with two flowerpots

Epoque: France, end of the Regence period, circa 1730.

Material: Sculpted and gilt wood

Dimensions: H. 70 ¼ in. (178.5 cm.); L. 41 1/2 in (105 cm.); D. 5 ½ in. (14 cm.)

Description:

The four corners of the principal plate show elaborate carving with acanthus scrolls, cartouches and flowers, whilst the upper part are decorated with two flowerpots. An asymmetrical cartouche decorates the center of the arch.
