Casket
Description:
On a tortoiseshell background, this cascket is adorned with arabesques interspersed with flowers, characters and animals. At the center of the lid, a dancer accompanied by two musicians. This shimmering decor is highlighted by a frieze of arabesques, animals , vases and garlands of flowers running around the lid and sides of the cabinet. The spandrels are enhanced with elegant falls of gilt bronze forming foliate scrolls.
