Set of twelve chairs by Ephraim Stahl
Description:
These elegant dining room chairs present a structure and a characteristic neoclassical ornamentation, at the time of the transition from the Gustavian era (1772-1809) and the access to power of the Bernadotte dynasty. The blindfold back rests on Egyptian bust shaped amounts, pattern which is reminiscent of the Napoleonic campaings in Egypt. A seat rail adorned with a laurel frieze emphasizes the trapezoidal seat and die joins carved with a rosette and rests on two balusters fluted legs and two saber back legs.
