Description:

This pair of Medici vases displays a row of pearls on each of its square plinths. The pedestal features an egg-and-dart frieze issuing acanthus leaves, extending into a circular body enhanced with a décor of laurel leaves alternating with asparagus stems. A cable molding surrounds each vase half way up.  The lips are bordered with an egg-and-dart frieze, while twisted cabled ring handles are attached to the body with scrolls upheld with an acanthus leave.
